CFD Analysis

Internal and external flow, multiphase, combustion, turbomachinery. From incompressible to supersonic regimes; the approach is chosen to fit the problem.

What we do

Computational fluid dynamics applies wherever there is flow: from pressure loss in a pipe to separation around a turbine blade, from particle separation in a cyclone to flame structure in a combustor.

We solve internal flow, external flow, multiphase, combustion and turbomachinery problems, from low-speed incompressible flow through to supersonic regimes.

The approach is chosen to fit the problem

We do not force every problem into one mould. Compressibility, turbulence model, mesh topology and discretisation scheme follow from the physics of the problem, and the reasoning is written into the report.

We work with both commercial and open-source solvers. Which was used is reported to the extent that it affects how the result can be verified.

What you receive

  • A technical report: assumptions, physics model, grid independence, results, uncertainty
  • Result imagery: contours, streamlines, vector fields, isosurfaces
  • Raw result data (CSV): the numbers behind every figure
  • Bottlenecks and improvement recommendations — where, why, what each buys
  • A closing meeting where the findings are presented

Typical questions we answer

  • How large is the pressure loss in this geometry, and where does it come from?
  • What is the efficiency at design flow, and where is the best efficiency point?
  • Where does separation begin, and over what range is the design unsafe?
  • Of two design alternatives, which is better — and is the difference measurable?
